Participating in the Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Pageant is an exciting time in the life of young women, their families and support systems. It all starts with preparation, and you will hear more than once, "Preparing is part of this journey, and it's the part that often leads to the most personal growth."

Let's be real. Attention to details matters, and it all starts with getting familiar with the pageant rulebook, handbook and application before you ever fill in a single blank. Contestants and their parents/guardians are encouraged to read the contract for their age division titleholders and become aware of expectations.

Hours of work are dedicated annually to making the Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Pageant the best it can be. The rulebook and handbooks are in place to ensure this pageant is conducted with integrity, professionalism and the goal of building up Oklahoma's young women. THE RULEBOOK IS KEY
Please familiarize yourself with the pageant Rulebook. It contains helpful information including the horsemanship patterns for all divisions. ​The Oklahoma Rodeo Pageants Council, Inc. (ORPC) offers titles in four separate age groups. Ages are determined as of November 1, 2025.  The Miss category age requirements follow eligibility rules for Miss Rodeo America Inc. Read those carefully.
​Parents/guardians should also become familiar with the parental agreement. All participants will be required to complete a release of liability.
 The MRO Scholarship Pageant Official Rulebook is where to start your application homework (all contestants should become familiar with this document).
Every effort is made to run a pageant with integrity and fair competition. A Grievance Form is available should a participant or parent/guardian take issue.
Here is a Chaperone form that also can have an effect on scoring.
Please note:
​The ORPC has not made changes to its actual age categories published in early 2026. In broad terms, the ages are Miss (19-24), Teen (14-18), Princess (9-13), Sweetheart (4-9). However, there are very specific age eligibility guidelines.

Application age eligibility wording is in accordance with Miss Rodeo America guidelines  that dictate the ages for Miss contestants competing at the 2027 Miss Rodeo America Pageant. Please refer to the actual applications for each age division.

The Sweetheart category is not designed to be competitive but to highlight our youngest rodeo enthusiasts!)
Sweetheart contestants will be permitted to compete for the Sweetheart or Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Princess titles the subsequent year.
