The ORPC National Director helps our titleholders field appearance requests. Any of these young women (Miss, Teen or Princess) can be an important addition to your rodeo, special event, parade, community activity or youth event (depending on schedule availability). They are experienced at public speaking and emceeing, confident at handling media interviews and also handling arena and parade appearances as skilled horsewomen. They are sought after for signing autographs at events and businesses and can help provide your patrons a memorable experience connected to rodeo and the Western lifestyle. If you have any questions how they might enhance your activity, just inquire. Schedules do fill up quickly, so it's advisable to schedule as soon as possible--even months in advance.
Schedule a Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Titleholder to Promote Your Event
Here are some suggested ways that Miss Rodeo Oklahoma titleholders can assist with your event:
Visit local schools and encourage the students to attend your rodeo, parade or other community events
Appear at autograph sessions at local retailers, banks, auto dealerships, etc.
Promote your event on local radio or television stations
Visit your event sponsors and thank them on behalf of your organization
Speak to civic organizations to encourage support and attendance
Assist with your local rodeo pageant, emceeing, handing out awards, mentoring contestants, etc.
Participate in your parade
Carry sponsor flags, post the colors and clear cattle from the arena during timed events
Sign autographs and assist with other activities during the rodeo, such as calf scrambles or mutton busting
To schedule Miss Rodeo Oklahoma, Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Teen and/or Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Princess, all requests should be made in writing using the Appearance Request form. The Oklahoma Rodeo Pageants Council National Director first coordinates scheduling—rather than the young women. This helps with overall schedule coordination and preparation.
Once you decide on duties for their scheduled titleholder(s), please provide the requested dates and schedule as early in the year as possible. Additional details will help these representatives know expectations and plan their travel, wardrobe and speaking notes.
Titleholders are responsible for their own expenses. It is appreciated when your event compensates them for time and travel to your event. This may be a contribution from your host organization, a local sponsor and/or individuals. Currently, this is a recommendation and not a requirement. Your invitation to titleholders is appreciated as an opportunity for their growth and development as they promote the sport of rodeo, the State of Oklahoma, its legacy and the western way of life.
