2014 Miss Rodeo Oklahoma
Alva, Oklahoma native, Lauren Heaton garnered the coveted title of Miss Rodeo Oklahoma during the National Day of the American Cowboy. As the First Lady of Professional Rodeo for the great state of Oklahoma, she will travel promoting the sport and the western way of life. As a fifth generation farmer/rancher, she is proud to continue the traditions of her family who homesteaded land acquired in the Land Run of 1893, and continue to farm and ranch that land, today.
“I am so fortunate to have this opportunity, not just to promote a sport that I love, but also to welcome new fans to this growing sport. Professional Rodeo is exploding in popularity as a result of increasing prize money as well as its’ unique style of family entertainment”, Lauren says. As a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in Strategic Communications of Advertising and Public Relations, Lauren is excited to use her education and the honorable title of being Miss Rodeo Oklahoma, to highlight the many amazing aspects of Oklahoma, and the sport of professional rodeo.
Her busy year will conclude in December when she will represent the State of Oklahoma at the Miss Rodeo America Pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Regarding her reign as Miss Rodeo Oklahoma, Lauren stated “I am humbled and honored to saddle up for the ride of a Lifetime!"
